Patrick’s Places recovery residences provide a clean and nurturing environment where men, seeking a sober way of life, can live in balance and harmony with others while learning how to live and practice the 12 steps of recovery both inside and outside the homes. A resident at one of our halfway houses will be expected to follow these House Rules:

Personal Living:
- Residents are expected to keep their room and personal space clean and orderly.
- All beds must be made daily, in military fashion.
- Personal items must be put away and individual living space clutter free.
- Household cleaning chores will be assigned, residents are responsible for their chores on a daily basis.
- Each house member is expected to work together to maintain and improve the household on a daily basis.
- If you smoke, you must smoke outside of the home, in the designated smoking area and ashtrays should be cleaned and emptied before retiring.
- Dishes must be washed and put away immediately after use.
- Residents are always expected to clean up after themselves in the home’s shared living space.
- Each individual at Patrick’s Places is entitled to their own space, their boundaries and their privacy, and will be treated with respect and dignity.
Expectations:
- There is a zero tolerance policy of using alcohol and drugs. Should a resident in one of our recovery residences choose to drink or drug, they will be asked to leave immediately.
- Each sober member of Patrick’s Places will be expected to maintain and improve their sobriety, on a daily basis, using the 12 Steps of Recovery.
- A curfew is in place for new residents at all of our recovery residences. Curfews are lessened on a merit basis with time.
- Residents are expected to work a 12-step program, attend 12-step meetings on a routine basis and work with a 12-step sponsor.
- Residents are expected to attend our in-house 12-step meetings which will enhance their living experience at Patrick’s Place while developing stronger relationships with their housemates.
- Mandatory house meetings are held each week. These meetings provide good sharing sessions and keep things moving in a forward direction at each of our recovery residences.
- Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted regularly. This is a requirement of Florida Administration of Recovery Residences (F.A.R.R.) Certification. Drug and alcohol tests are regularly issued to assure that our residents are alcohol and drug free.
- Major infractions, such an altercations, fighting, theft, criminal activities, threats or violence, will result in immediate dismissal.
- Non-payment of rent, without an approved extension from the house director, will result in dismissal.
General Rules:
- Pets are not permitted at Patrick’s Places.
- Patrick’s Places are for men who are serious about staying sober, if this is not your number one priority, then this is not the place for you.
- It is not mandatory to have a job when you move into Patrick’s Places; however, it is necessary to be searching for one.
- Rent must be paid on time, our 7th Tradition teaches us that we have to pay our own way, and it is important to be self-supporting.
- No overnight guests allowed, ever.
- All visitors must be pre-approved by the house manager.
